POSITION:HOME > PRODUCTS > ENGINEERED PLASTICS > Hepla® PBT Hepla® PBT Hepla® PBT boasts excellent heat resistance, toughness, fatigue resistance, self-lubrication, weatherability, good dimensional stability, and chemical resistance and good electrical properties. It has a low friction coefficient. At room temperatures, it has excellent resistance to various chemicals, including aliphatic hydrocarbons, gasoline, carbon tetrachloride, perchloroethylene, oil, fat, alcohol, glycol, ester, ether and dilute acid, and alkali. In addition, Hepla® PBT has a low water absorption rate of only 0.1%, and can maintain most of physical properties (like electrical properties and electrical insulation) in humid environment. Hepla® PBT can be rapidly crystallized at low temperatures, with good moldability in short molding cycle. Its molding temperature is much lower than that of many other engineered plastics. In general, Hepla® PBT has greater tensile strength, flexural modulus and dielectric strength, as well as faster and more economical molding process than most thermoset materials. Highlights and Limitations Highlights: 1. Excellent drug resistance and oil resistance 2. Self-lubrication with a small friction coefficient 3. Low water absorption 4. Excellent electrical properties 5. Good dimensional stability Limitations: 1. Impact resistance 2. Relatively poor hydrolysis resistance and liable to be eroded by halogenated hydrocarbon Hepla® PBT performance comparison of different brands Hepla® PBT materials offer outstanding performance and processing characteristics. Since the material molding temperature is lower than many engineering plastics, it can be crystallized quickly, and thus has more economical molding characteristics. The common Hepla® PBT grades are mostly modified, and the modification can greatly improve the corresponding performance of the original base resin. New Fuda engineers can achieve a variety of high performance combinations that can replace a range of materials such as polypropylene, nylon and acetal. Not only that, Hepla® PBT series materials can be combined with other materials to form a more effective plastic alloy to meet the demanding application environment. The figure below is a comparison of the basic properties of Hepla® PBT base resin after adding 10%, 20%, 40% glass fiber and 20% carbon fiber.
