Hepla® ABS

Hepla® ABS is excellent in resistance to impacts, heat, low temperatures and chemicals, and electrical properties. And it also has the characteristics of easy processing, dimensional stability and good surface furnish. In addition, Hepla® ABS is easy to be painted and colored. Hepla® ABS, a kind of thermoplastic engineering plastic with a wide range of uses, is also available for reprocess such as surface metalizing, electroplating, welding, hot pressing and bonding. Because Hepla® ABS is a terpolymer composed of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene, so we can adjust ABS ternary monomer system to balance its properties.
 



 

Highlights and Limitations

 

Highlights:

1. Excellent balance among toughness, hardness and rigidity

2. Good dielectric property and processability

3. Excellent resistance to impacts at low temperatures

4. Resistance to water, inorganic salts, alkalis and acids, insoluble in most alcohols and hydrocarbon solvents

 

Limitations

1. Relatively poor weatherability

2. Relatively poor resistance to solvents, easy to dissolve in aldehydes, ketones, esters and some chlorinated hydrocarbons

3. High smoke generation when burned
