POSITION:HOME > PRODUCT FUNCTION > Thermal conductivity NFD thermal conductive plastic NFD can provide both thermally conductive and thermally conductive plastic, depending on your needs. Principle of heat conduction: Plastics will absorb and generate heat during use and operation. Failure to conduct heat in a timely manner will increase the temperature of the part, increase the thermal expansion coefficient, deform the material, and even cause ablation and plastic parts not working properly. Thermally conductive plastics use thermoplastic materials as the matrix, metal oxides Al2O3, MgO, SiO2, CaO, NiO, metal nitrides AlN, Si3N4, BN, etc., and carbides SiC and B4C3 as fillers, which solves this problem very well. The advantages of thermally conductive (conducting / insulating) plastics are: uniform heat dissipation, avoiding hot spots, reducing local deformation of parts due to high temperatures, light weight, convenient molding and processing, and high product design freedom. With the emergence of metal, aluminum, copper and other metal materials in terms of thermal conductivity, low-carbon environmental protection, processability, and quality, high thermal conductivity materials have gradually become industrial needs. Integrated circuits all require materials with high insulation and highly integrated electronic components that emit large amounts of heat. NFD combines the moldability of plastics with the thermal conductivity of thermally conductive materials to make composite materials with excellent processing and molding capabilities. It also has the same thermal conductivity as metal and ceramic. The thermal conductivity of non-metallic fillers mainly depends on phonon heat conduction, and the diffusion rate depends on the vibration of adjacent atoms or bonded groups. Commonly used thermally conductive (conductive / insulated) plastic matrix resins include PC, POM, PA, LCP, PPS, PEEK, etc. The thermal conductivity is 1-20W / m-k, which is 5-100 times the thermal conductivity of traditional plastics. Thermal conductive insulating plastics are divided into: plastics with thermal conductivity higher than 1W/m-k are called thermal conductive plastics; plastics with thermal conductivity higher than 5-10W/m-k are called high thermal conductive plastics; plastics with thermal conductivity higher than 10W/m-k are called ultra-high thermal conductive plastics, referred to as superconductive plastics. NFD develops matrix resin + thermal conductive filler + flame retardant formulation, which not only meets the thermal conductivity of materials, but also has flame retardant effect and meets various applications. There are two main factors affecting the thermal conductivity plastics: one is the content of thermal conductive fillers, the proportion of thermal conductive fillers is small, which has a low impact on the thermal conductivity of materials, and the high thermal conductive fillers affect the mechanical properties of materials. NFD explores the combination between different thermal conductive fillers and different resins in a professional way, optimizes the proportion of fillers, and forms network and chain heat conductive network chains within the material. When the network chains are consistent with the direction of heat flow, the thermal resistance is the smallest and the thermal conductivity is the best. Methods to improve the thermal conductivity of thermal conductive fillers: (1) Types and properties of matrix resins. (2) The properties, particle size and size distribution of thermal conductive fillers. The thermal conductive filler was superfine and nano-filler was used. Different particle size filler combinations were used to achieve higher filling density. (3) The interfacial bonding between filler and matrix resin, using coupling agent to increase the interfacial bonding ability between filler and matrix, and reduce the thermal resistance at the interface. Technical advantages of replacing aluminium alloy with thermal conductive plastics: 1. Thermal conductive plastics have good insulation, high voltage resistance, light weight, high processing efficiency and good heat dissipation. To avoid the use of aluminium alloy as heat sink, it is necessary to design a composite standard and high price safe power supply. 2. Thermal conductive plastics can adopt the latest power supply design method to improve the power supply effect and power factor of LED lamp, improve its life and reduce its cost. The electric conversion efficiency of LED lamp is 20%-30%, and other energy is transmitted in the form of heat energy. The advantages of thermal conductive plastics are: uniform heat dissipation, avoiding ablation points; light weight, 40%-50% lighter than aluminium; shock absorption; low thermal expansion coefficient, reducing deformation of parts under high temperature; improving mechanical properties; high processing efficiency; high design freedom; low working temperature; environmental protection, composite RoHs certification; safety, electrical insulation; flame retardant.
