High and low specific gravity
 

NFD high specific gravity plastics are filled with a certain proportion of heavy mineral fillers or metal powders into thermoplastics. This material still has the plasticity of plastics and some properties can meet the requirements of metals. It has the texture of metals. High specific gravity plastics features: high density, easy processing, metal texture, X-ray shielding, etc, in automotive manufacturing, electronic and electrical fields, the use of high specific gravity plastics instead of lead products can achieve green environmental protection of materials. Low specific gravity plastics mainly achieve the goal of reducing the specific gravity of plastics by adding light fillers. Lightweight fillers include: hollow glass beads, phenolic beads, cork powder and other materials. The high specific gravity mixed filler is composed of 40%-96% mineral and metal powder. It still has the ability of plastic processing and moulding. The maximum density of this kind of material can reach 15g/cm3. Lightweight density material use calcium carbonate (2.6g/cm3), barium sulfate (4.5g/cm3), talcum powder (2.6g/cm3) and other minerals to replace fillers such as aluminium and ceramics. Medium and heavy specific gravity materials usually use metal fillers such as steel, aluminium and tungsten, which have thermal conductivity and electromagnetic shielding ability. In order to prepare high specific gravity materials, good fluidity matrix resin is needed. According to the good fluidity of PP, PA, PBT, TPU, SEBS, PPS,etc resins, NFD has developed a variety of high specific gravity materials.

Glass bead is a kind of micro glass sphere of inorganic non-metallic material.
